saturday. party. here we go…

This is big news hurr….(press release for the taste crew dot com only)

TasteNYC & Stimulus present a big old
Saturday, April 28, 8pm
Open Bar 8-10pm. 8pm-late
Cash Bar (& BYOB shhhh…)

We wanted something special to kick off the spring, so we called our DJ friends and got nearly everyone in town to ring in the sunshine in a private space down in the Financial District. Now, we’ve got a lineup of 15 DJ’s not to be taken, lightly, 3 Mc’s, 2 incredibly special female guests, projectors, lighting, soundsystems, and 2 rooms of the best music in the city. A production not to be taken lightly, a staff of coordinators, promoters, and performers have been working tirelessly under the radar to bring this party to life.

TasteNYC, a promotional group formed after a successful residency at the Sutra Lounge, teamed up with Stimulus, front man of The Real Live Show, Cobra Kai the infamous party rocking duo of Richmond VA, and promotional mastermind Mastro of Takeover Theory, to bring together one of the strongest long-lineups of the new year.

About The Lineup:

Shundra (of Yo’ Majesty)
One of the fastest growing groups in the club circuit. These 3 wild girls from Tampa are defining crunk. Picking up steam from their releases and recently remixed by CSS, the girls are currently in town recording with the Bassment Jaxx. Dirty south rhymes with electro dance-floor production.

Tiombe Lockhart (Platinum Pied Pipers, Bling 47)
Coming up under the wing of Detroit mastermind producers, hailing from the camp of the late J. Dilla, the Platinum Pied Pipers, and working with production partner Wajeed, Tiombe has a resume of performances and recorded material to silence the haters. When not working in the studio with Wajeed, Tiombe is crafting her own production for a new sound between hip hop, electronic, and rock, with a beautiful streaming voice to tie it all together.

Stimulus (Real Live Show)
Front man alongside partner Malik of the Real Live Show, the current Hip Hop residents of infamous music hub Nublu, built his name as an emcee alongside a successful DJ career. Currently releasing his new LP on “A King’s County Tale” via. Fontana Distribution.

6th Sense (Rawkus, Notherground Music)
Brought to us via Fader Magazine, new signee to Rawkus Records, incredibly versatile emcee backed by the production of Scion’s King of the Beats Champion, Frequency. His latest EP “Still Aint Recoup” will be available digitally on iTunes May 1.

Simeon (20/20 Records, WGRW, DC)
DC born and bred emcee has built a large following in the DC metro area from his heavily favored LP from 2006 “Once Upon a Time”. Sim hosted the popular radio show “Funkadelic Freestyles” featured exclusively on WGRW for the past year bringing guests like Oddisee, Panacea, and hosting producer battles live on air. Simeon will be performing alongside vocalist Kontac.

LIVE PA (Downstairs)
Former members of the popular sonic group Heat Sensor on the niche label Sound Ink, Todd & Matt form Ysle, a live production / Dance set. Their unique set up allows them to link computers along with production gear to bring a whole new face to the world of electronica. The synergy between hip-hop, drum & bass, IDM as well as Dub influence brings these two audiophiles to a whole new level of music that can appeal to the masses.
